Acts - Highlights & Notes 1 | 2

. . . "Wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, 'ye have heard of me.' For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence." (1:4-5 KJV)

. . . "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons,
which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." (1:7-8) - Jesus says men cannot know when the kingdom will be restored to Israel, but instead tells them they will receive power, the ultimate power of the Holy Spirit with which they will do great things and be a marvel to follow-this is the real restoration of the kingdom.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord (mind [Greek]) in one place. (2:1)

Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language. (2:6)

Then Peter said: "Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk." (3:6) - Jesus heals a cripple and gives a great speech thereafter.

And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide. Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. (4:3-4) - Peter and John are arrested, but the people who heard them speak believe in Christ and grow to about five thousand in number.
